Terms of Service

Last Updated: 07/04/2026

Thank you for choosing D&Y Tree Services Tampa. As a locally owned business, we take pride in offering reliable, professional, and respectful tree services to our community. These terms are designed to set clear expectations and ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

1. Services We Provide

We offer professional tree care services, including trimming, removal, stump grinding, storm cleanup, and land clearing.

All services include cleanup, roof blowing when applicable, and disposal of all branches and debris. Stump grinding converts the stump into mulch, which is spread on-site. Hauling of grindings is not included unless quoted separately.

2. Estimates and Scheduling

We proudly offer free, no-obligation estimates for all our services. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued and include the full scope of work discussed, including cleanup and disposal unless otherwise noted.

Scheduling is based on weather, crew availability, and job readiness. We strive to stay on time and will always communicate promptly if adjustments are needed.

Any additional work requested during the service that was not previously discussed or included in the approved quote will require a new quote. We reserve the right to accept or decline the request and to charge accordingly.

Cancellations: Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a cancellation fee of 5% of the quoted price.

3. Permits and Local Regulations

Some tree work may require a permit from your city or county. Clients are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits unless otherwise agreed in writing.

If needed, we can help with the permitting process for an additional administrative fee. For Hillsborough County residents, permit information is available here:

We comply with all applicable regulations and may delay or cancel work if required permits are not secured.

4. Property Access and Yard Conditions

By accepting service, you authorize our crew and equipment to access and maneuver on your property, including through driveways, gates, and lawns if needed.

The client is responsible for removing or protecting any personal belongings, decorations, furniture, potted plants, vehicles, or other items from the work area prior to our arrival. We are not responsible for damage to items left within or immediately adjacent to the work area.

We do our best to minimize any disturbance, but tree work may cause normal impacts such as tire marks, compacted soil, minor turf stress, or shifts in hard surfaces due to equipment weight. We are not responsible for damage to landscaping, irrigation systems, underground utilities, or other hidden conditions that were not disclosed or clearly marked before work begins.

To avoid issues, we can discuss protective options in advance. These may require additional labor and a separate quote.

We are not responsible for damage caused by hidden conditions such as soft soil or voids beneath surfaces. Some impact should be expected, especially with large removals or wet ground.

If access through a neighbor’s property is needed, the client must obtain permission before work begins.

5.Stump Grinding Details

Stump grinding is typically performed to a depth of approximately 2–4 inches below the surrounding ground level around the main trunk using commercial stump grinding equipment.

Unless otherwise stated in your quote:

  • Stump grinding is not included in standard tree removal pricing.
  • Mulch generated from stump grinding will be spread around the stump area and left on-site unless removal is requested and quoted separately.
  • We do not haul away stump mulch or grindings unless specified.
  • Surface roots beyond the immediate stump area are not included. Trees with large raised bases or exposed surface roots may not result in a completely flat area. Additional grinding, root removal, or mulch hauling is available upon request and will be quoted separately.

6. What’s Not Included

Unless specifically stated in your quote, our work does not include:

  • Masonry, concrete, or paver repair.
  • Ground leveling or regrading beyond light sparcing included in our standard cleanup.
  • Hauling of debris not generated by our crew.

We’ll gladly quote any additional service you may need.

Any additional work requested during the service that has not been previously discussed or included in the approved quote will require a new quote. We reserve the right to accept or decline the request and to charge accordingly.

7. Safety and Client Responsibilities

Clients must ensure our crew has safe, clear access to the work area, and keep pets and children out of the work zone during service. Please inform us in advance of any hidden hazards, such as septic tanks, utility lines, or irrigation systems. We are not responsible for damage to unmarked or undisclosed underground systems.

If access through a neighbor’s property is needed, the client must obtain their permission prior to the scheduled service. Clients are also responsible for securing any required city or county permits, unless otherwise agreed in writing. D&Y Tree Services can assist with permitting upon request, for an additional administrative fee.

8. Payment and Insurance

Payment is due in two installments: 50% before work begins and the remaining 50% upon completion of the job. If you are available at the time of completion, we encourage you to inspect the work with our team before the crew leaves the property.

We accept cash, check, Zelle, ACH transfer (1% processing fee), and credit or debit cards (3% processing fee). Financing may be available for qualifying projects, subject to credit approval and the financing provider’s terms and conditions.

We are fully licensed and insured. Documentation is available upon request.

Late payments may incur a 1.5% monthly finance charge. Returned checks will be charged a $35 fee.

9. Completion and Acceptance of Work

Upon completion of the work, the client is responsible for inspecting the completed service. If the client is present, any concerns should be brought to our attention before the crew leaves the property whenever reasonably possible.

If the client is not present at the time of completion, the work will be considered complete upon notification by D&Y Tree Services. Payment of the final invoice constitutes acceptance of the completed work. Any concerns reported after acceptance will be reviewed at D&Y Tree Services’ sole discretion.

10. Limitation of Liability

D&Y Tree Services’ liability is limited to the total cost of the service provided. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for conditions beyond our control (such as weather, neighbor access, or previously hidden property conditions).
